This is a charming “sweetheart bracelet” from the1940s-1950s. They came into fashion during WWII and exudes the mood of that era in American history. This model is the popular “American Queen” made by the Pitman& Keller Company. It is a stretch bracelet centering a prettily engraved heart with the initial “B” on it， so if your name or the name of a young lady you know starts with “B”， you are in luck. The band consists of curved links that alternate between smooth and engraved. On the underside of the back three links are engraved“American Queen”， Pitman & Keller Co.， and Sterling Base. Many of thesewere made entirely of base metal， the better ones were done with a sterling base， and that is what we have here. The plating has held up very nicely over the years with no visible tarnishing. It is not at all tinny， and weighs 29.62grams. The heart measures ” at its longest and widest. The links measure just over ” long.This will fit a smallish wrist very comfortably， and a medium wrist (such as the one in the photo) nicely， but would probably be uncomfortable for a larger wrist.
